I don’t think I understood the term “commuter” before.

According to Google Maps, I’m working 38.8 mi (about 51 mins) away from home.  On a clear day, such as when I have to work and everyone else has taken the day off because of a holiday, this “commute” takes me about 45 minutes.  That’s fine.  I can handle that.  Most days aren’t the day before or after a holiday, however.
Most days this “commute” takes over an hour and a half.   Sometimes both ways.  So, that’s 3 hours.  Add 3 to the normal work day (including the unpaid half-hour lunch break) that’s 11.5 hours.  I am out of my home for essentially half of the day.

I want to work on my websites.  I have several in progress right now, for myself, family, and friends… Let me count…seven.  I have 7 sites that I am either developing or maintaining at this very moment.
I am home and conscious for 4 hours a day.   In that amount of time, I also have to cook, eat, and clean up dinner, clean up after the cat, feed the lizards, and any number of other household chores.

Plus, my computer hates me.  I moved last month.  Since then, it will not turn on without a power surge that ought to fry the motherboard.  Instead of frying, the hard drive boots.  WHY?  Why me?

Will I ever get my sites finished?
You know, when they aren’t paying clients, it makes it really hard to force yourself to give up all your free time for them.  Even if it means improving the portfolio…  But, it doesn’t do me a lot of good to write out the HTML on paper, so the answer right now is “probably no.”
