I have a job working on other people’s web sites. I used to enjoy that… I don’t think I do anymore. You can really only code so much. I get home, and the last thing I want to do is be near my own computer. No… that’s the second-to-last thing.
The last thing is work on my own website.
So it has been awhile since my last post even. I hate WordPress, and I want to build my own… but when am I ever going to do that? Heck, when am I ever going to get around to finishing learning PHP? Someday, I imagine, maybe after I retire.
I am trying to update my site… the code, the content, all of it. I’m also trying to draw more. I’ve been working my way through a book of masterworks just so that I have something to draw every day. Once I finish that, I have to update my portfolio so I can apply to grad school… and then I have to find the money. That’s farther off than I’d like it to be.
I took the time today to complete the life cycle of several puff-balls. That’s a mushroom. It explodes spores into the air when it’s bumped, and if it’s jumped on it’s even more impressive. Clouds of spore-smoke like a small bonfire. Very satifying, being able to destroy something, and yet knowing that it’s actually what the mushroom wants – even lives – to have happen.
